1. Acceptance of These Terms
Welcome to charityfoodministry.org, operated by Christian Home Baptist Church d/b/a Charity Food Ministry (“Charity Food Ministry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity located in Chester, South Carolina.
By accessing or using this website, making a donation through it, submitting a form, or subscribing to our communications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, to make a donation or submit personal information through this site.
2. Use of This Website
You may use this website for lawful purposes: to learn about our programs, to request or arrange food assistance, to donate, to volunteer, to partner with us, and to share our work with others. We encourage you to link to our pages and to share our content with people who might help or need help.
You agree that you will not:
- Use the site in any way that violates federal, state, or local law, or that infringes the rights of any person or organization;
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including fraudulent payment information or a donation made with a payment method you are not authorized to use;
- Impersonate Charity Food Ministry, our staff, our volunteers, or any other person, or misrepresent your affiliation with us;
- Solicit donations, sell goods or services, or collect information about our donors, volunteers, or program participants;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, our accounts, or our systems; introduce viruses or malicious code; or interfere with the site's operation or security;
- Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, mine, or bulk-download content or contact information from the site;
- Transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable through our contact forms or email.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the site, and to decline or refund any donation, if we reasonably believe these terms have been violated.
3. Donations and Refund Policy
Charitable gifts are generally final. A donation to Charity Food Ministry is a completed charitable contribution. Because we commit funds to food purchasing, program logistics, and delivery quickly after receiving them, donations are non-refundable as a general rule.
That said, we handle mistakes fairly. We will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund in these situations:
- Duplicate or erroneous gifts. If you accidentally submitted the same gift twice or entered the wrong amount, contact us within 30 days of the transaction and we will correct it.
- Unauthorized transactions. If a gift was made with your payment method without your authorization, contact us immediately. We will refund the transaction and cooperate with your card issuer or bank.
- Recurring gifts. You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by emailing admin@charityfoodministry.org. Cancellation stops future charges; gifts already processed are not automatically refunded, though we will refund the most recent installment on request if your cancellation notice reached us before the charge date.
To request a correction or refund, email admin@charityfoodministry.org with the donation date, amount, and the name on the gift. If a refund is issued, we will also void or correct any tax acknowledgment previously provided for that gift, and you may not claim a charitable deduction for a refunded amount.
Designated gifts. When you designate a gift to a specific program — family food boxes, hot meals, weekend backpacks, the mobile pantry, senior delivery, or fresh produce — we honor that designation. If a program is fully funded, discontinued, or over-subscribed, we will apply your gift to the area of greatest need in keeping with our charitable purpose, consistent with our obligations as a tax-exempt organization.
Tax acknowledgment. Charity Food Ministry is recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity under EIN 93-4499426, and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We provide a written acknowledgment for each gift. Nothing on this website is tax or legal advice; please consult your own advisor regarding deductibility in your circumstances.
Basket and impact figures. Amounts shown in our donation basket and impact estimates — including our “$1 = 1 Meal” framing — are good-faith illustrations based on our actual program costs and are not a contractual guarantee that your particular dollar produced a particular meal.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, articles, photographs, graphics, illustrations, logos, page layouts, and the compilation of all of it — is owned by Charity Food Ministry or used with permission, and is protected by United States copyright and trademark law. The Charity Food Ministry name, logo, and the tagline “Serving with Compassion & Faith” are our marks.
You may view, download, and print pages from this site for your personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source page. You may not reproduce our content for commercial purposes, use our name or logo to imply endorsement or affiliation, remove copyright or attribution notices, or represent our content as your own.
To request permission for any other use, including press, educational, or partnership use of our photographs, email admin@charityfoodministry.org. We grant such requests readily when the use supports our mission.
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, notify us at the address in Section 10 with a description of the work, the location of the material, and your contact information, and we will investigate promptly.
5. Third-Party Links and Services
This website contains links to third-party websites and services, including the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, payment processors, and the sites of partner farms, schools, churches, and businesses. These links are provided for convenience and information only.
We do not control third-party sites, do not endorse all of their content, and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, security practices, or terms. Your use of any third-party site or service is at your own risk and is governed by that party's own terms and privacy policy. Online donations are processed by independent third-party payment processors, and your transaction with them is subject to their agreements.
6. Disclaimers
This website and all content on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.
We work hard to keep this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that content is complete, error-free, or up to date. Program schedules, distribution dates and times, item lists, and statistics are subject to change without notice, including for weather, supply, or staffing reasons. Please confirm details with us before traveling to a distribution.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We provide food assistance, not medical, nutritional, legal, financial, or tax advice; nothing on this site should be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. While we make reasonable efforts to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, we cannot guarantee that any food item is free of any particular allergen, and you are responsible for reading labels and making your own dietary decisions.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Charity Food Ministry, Christian Home Baptist Church, and their trustees, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — this website, any content on it, or any third-party site linked from it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this website will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the total amount you donated to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Charity Food Ministry, Christian Home Baptist Church, and their trustees, officers, employees, and volunteers from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms of Use, your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or your misuse of this website.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Use and any dispute arising from them or from your use of this website are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the exclusive venue for any legal action shall be the state or federal courts located in or serving Chester County, South Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing any claim, we ask that you contact us in good faith at admin@charityfoodministry.org so that we can try to resolve the matter directly. Most concerns are resolved with a phone call or an email.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms of Use at any time to reflect changes in our programs, our website, or applicable law. Revised terms take effect when posted on this page, and we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be identified by that updated date, and where appropriate we will note the change on our news page.
Your continued use of the website after a revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. Please check this page periodically. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
