We're here to fight hunger where it hits hardest — right here in Chester County, South Carolina.
We began as a small group of believers with a simple conviction: no neighbor in Chester County should go to bed hungry.
In October 2023, the IRS recognized Charity Food Ministry — operating under Christian Home Baptist Church — as a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to relieving hunger and poverty in our community. Our first distribution was a single folding table in the church parking lot, stocked with whatever our members could spare.
Word spread fast. Families came. Then more volunteers came. Then local farms, grocers, and businesses started calling to ask how they could help.
Today we run six programs across Chester, York, and Lancaster counties, serving over 850 families and 12,000 meals each year. If you're looking to support an organization committed to practical, on-the-ground hunger relief, this is where your contribution turns into real meals for real families.
To relieve hunger and food insecurity across Chester County and surrounding communities by providing nutritious food, compassionate service, and pathways to stability — one meal at a time.
A Chester County where every person has access to enough nutritious food to live with dignity, health, and hope — regardless of circumstance.
Feeding the hungry is among the most sacred acts a person can perform. We serve all people without discrimination, with no requirements and no strings attached.
We're guided by a set of values that shape every single meal we deliver. These principles keep our work focused, responsible, and rooted in real impact.
Compassion drives every part of our work, from cooking meals to supporting families in crisis. We respond with empathy, understanding, and a commitment to easing the burden on households wherever they are.
No one should be left behind. Our work reaches people regardless of background, faith, race, or circumstance, creating a safe, welcoming space for anyone in need of a meal. No ID. No income check. No questions.
Every meal is delivered in a way that honors the people we serve. No shame, no judgment — just a warm, respectful experience that ensures individuals feel valued, not vulnerable.
We steward every donated dollar carefully, file our IRS returns on time, and publish our financials openly. Our determination keeps us moving, improving, and reaching more neighbors year after year.
We specialize in hot meals and nutritional support. No mission drift — our aim is to leave no stomach rumbling in Chester County.
Our volunteers prepare, pack, and deliver meals directly to families. Leadership serves on the line alongside everyone else.
Every dollar stays in Chester, York, and Lancaster counties. You can drive past the families your gift feeds.
Because we buy in bulk and rescue surplus produce, our meals cost about $1 on average — making your donation stretch further.
I grew up poor. I know what it's like to open an empty cupboard. If I can prevent one child from feeling that, I'll be here every Saturday.Join Our Volunteers
