Volunteer Spotlight: The Heart of Our Ministry

Behind every food box, every hot meal, and every delivered grocery bag is a volunteer who chose to show up. Our team of 45+ volunteers is the engine of Charity Food Ministry — and today, we want to celebrate them.

The Early Risers

Every third Saturday, a crew of 15 volunteers arrives at 7 AM to pack 200+ family food boxes. Betty, 72, has been there since day one. "I grew up poor," she says. "I know what it's like to open an empty cupboard. If I can prevent one child from feeling that, I'll be here every Saturday."

The Wednesday Warriors

Our hot meal team cooks for 80–100 people every Wednesday. James, a retired chef, leads the kitchen. "Cooking for people who need it — that's the most meaningful thing I've ever done with a stove," he told us last month.

The Road Warriors

Our senior delivery drivers cover routes across two counties. Maria drives 40 miles every other Tuesday, delivering groceries to 8 elderly neighbors. "Mrs. Henderson waits by the window for me," Maria shares. "Sometimes we sit on the porch and talk for twenty minutes. The food matters, but so does the visit."
