When mobility, health, or fixed incomes make grocery runs impossible, we deliver nourishing food to the door — with a friendly check-in that matters as much as the bags.
Many older neighbors in Chester County live alone on fixed incomes. Standing in a pantry line, climbing church steps, or driving across town is not always possible — even when hunger is real.
Some manage chronic illness. Others have lost a spouse who used to handle grocery trips. A few simply cannot afford both prescriptions and a full cart. Isolation compounds the problem: empty shelves and empty living rooms often show up together.
Senior Grocery Delivery brings two weeks of groceries to the door, along with a brief, respectful visit. Volunteers notice if the porch light is out, if someone seems unwell, and if a quiet referral to other support might help.
Every other Tuesday, volunteers pack soft-sided bags at 669 Charity Road and deliver to 45 senior households on our active list. Program Director Sandra Johnson reviews dietary notes — low sodium, soft foods, diabetic-friendly options — so each delivery matches real needs.
Volunteer Coordinator Linda Parker trains drivers on privacy, safety, and how to offer a kind word without lingering longer than a guest wants. Bags go inside when invited; otherwise they are placed where the recipient prefers.
Executive Director Antonio Davidson partners with local clinics and churches to identify seniors who need help but will not ask for it themselves.
Your gift keeps a senior fed without the stress of transportation, long lines, or choosing between food and medicine.

I used to skip meals to make the Social Security check last. Now every other Tuesday somebody knocks, and I know I'll eat. That knock means I'm not forgotten.
Prefer not to give online? Here are four other ways to fund senior grocery delivery.
